The 'Chat Rooms' feature in mySecondTeacher is a communication channel where teachers and students can discuss specific classes or projects through individual or group conversations and file sharing. It provides a dedicated space for updates, announcements, and resources, encouraging collaboration and active participation.

Follow the given steps to create a Chat Room for your Students:

• Login to your Teacher account

• Click on "Chat Rooms" tab on the bottom navbar

• On the right column in the Chat Room, click on (+New) sign and "Create Channel" to create a new channel

• Type in the name of the new channel

• Add a short description of the channel

• Add your Students to your channel (You can also make a private channel)

• Click on "Create Channel".

After your channel is created successfully, type in the message and send it to your Students.

Yes, you can talk to your Teacher if your Teacher has enabled the Chat Room Mode. Please talk to your Teacher about their preference for using the Chat Room.

The Chat Room includes an "Ignore" feature to help manage unwanted messages.

You can add the user to an ignore list which will allow you to receive messages from the user but you can't reply to the user.

Please follow the given steps if you want to manage or restrict messages from a user in the group chat using the ignore feature:

• Go to the group chat room where the user is active

• Search for the name of the person you want to ignore

• Click on the “Option” button at the top-right corner of the chat window

• Select “Add to Ignore List”

Once added, you will no longer receive messages from that user in the chatroom. If needed, you can remove the user from the ignore list by following the same steps and selecting “Remove from Ignore List”.

Teachers can set up the Chat Room in different modes.

If the Chat Room is set to Notice Board Mode, students can view messages but cannot send messages or post content.

If it is set to Chat Room Mode, students can actively participate by sending messages and sharing resources.

Please check with your Teacher to understand how the Chat Room has been set for your class.

The Chat Room allows you to communicate in the primary channel as well as with your peers. Even though it acts like an instant messenger to communicate with your peers, it cannot be used explicitly as a messenger.
